I have valued everything I have learned thus far. I gave this book 3 stars because there are some parts that are already outdated which can cause any beginner to get lost or wonder why certain things don't work as shown in the book. This can create a lot of frustration especially if you're trying to learn PS as a beginner. At times the book is veg and assumes that you will know what they are talking about when you are given instructions to do something.
I think it's an okay book for what you learn, but overall, this could have been done much better. This book does provide step-by-step instructions that teach you how to use the different tools in photoshop. It is clear and concise in some areas and in others, you will find yourself completely lost. It does provide a lot of information for beginners. I love this book. First of all, I have no experience with Photoshop. This book gets down to the basics without a lot of theory.
Each exercise is challenging and very interesting. You could pay a learning center thousands of dollars to learn Photoshop and not learn as much as you will from this book. It is great. The book spends more time on telling you how to do the projects the difficult way instead of telling you the short cuts and more logical way to use Photoshop.
